Welcome to First Grade! We are looking forward to a great year.

   Literacy: We are practicing how to describe details of characters, the setting, and the plot. In writing we are working on writing narratives. Our focus is on a story that has a beginning, middle, and end on a given topic. Students are practicing using correct capitalization and punctuation.  Math: Our class is reading, writing, and making numbers 0 to 120. We are using tallies, sets, and number words to show a given number. Social studies and Science: Students are learning about the environmental changes and how it affects people.
